About Habitat Clay and Yankton Counties
Habitat for Humanity of Clay and Yankton Counties seeks to put God’s love into action by addressing urgent housing needs in our communities, nation and world. We are a Christian housing ministry founded in 1996, emerged from a simple dream; to unite people, communities, churches, and businesses in a spirit of a true partnership by building homes with families in need, regardless of race, nationality, or religion. This ministry is financed through private donations and utilizing volunteer labor. Join us by Getting Involved!

Our Principles: 1. Demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ. 2. Focus on shelter. 3. Advocate for affordable housing. 4. Promote dignity and hope. 5. Support sustainable and transformation development.
Since 1996, the Yankton County affiliate has built and sold affordable homes to 37 families in need of a decent place to call home. In addition, Habitat has recycled 1 home and sold it to a new partner family. In 2013, Habitat for Humanity of Yankton County launched its neighborhood revitalization initiative through its A Brush With Kindness Program serving 1 family in need of major repair to their home. The goal for 2014 is to build 1-2 new construction homes, recycle 2 homes and complete 3 home repair projects!
